NMBCH is currently seeking highly committed married couples to serve in the role of Houseparents for its campus located in Portales, NM and soon to open campus in Estancia, NM.

Houseparents parent up to 9 resident children and do many of the things that parents do. Homework help, preparing meals, training children, leading daily devotions, recreation, loving correction, housework, routine home maintenance, doctor appointments, etc. In addition, they will work closely with schools, social workers, case managers, staff and others to meet the needs of each child in their home. Houseparents are expected to participate in ongoing training & development and to conduct themselves professionally.

Qualifications
  • Each applicant will provide references that can attest to the applicant's Christian character.
  • Must have a calling to work with children from hard places as a professional houseparent.
  • Must be at least 25 years old.
  • Married at least 2 years.
  • Must be able to communicate well.
  • Will be required to submit to a fingerprint background check.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and good driving record.
  • New Mexico Baptist Children's Home is an entity of the New Mexico Baptist Convention. Each employee is expected to agree with the Baptist Faith and Message and attend an SBC church.
Salary & Benefits
  • $65,000/ couple
  • 16 days on/ 8 days off schedule
  • Medical, Dental, life, disability insurance
  • 403b retirement benefits with match (after waiting period)
  • Large home with utilities on days on and off
  • Up to 2 dependent children
  • May have 1 well-behaved pet. (Must abide by pet policy)
