Houseparents use biblical values to model a healthy family as they care for the children residing at Collins Home Family Ministries. They manage the home to create a therapeutic environment to achieve age-appropriate goals and life skills. They ensure an integrated approach to nurturing each child within a structured environment. Additionally, they develop a relationship (whenever possible) with each child's family and help assimilate them into the CHFM program.

Qualifications
  • Agrees with the Statement of Faith and Mission
  • High School Diploma or GED and relevant work experience
  • Twenty-five (25) years of age
  • Must pass required background checks and fingerprints
  • Participate and complete training required by Collins Home Family Ministries
  • Complete First Aid and CPR training
  • Attend and participate in staff or other meetings as requested/scheduled
  • Willing and able to do manual work
  • Keep accurate and organized records
  • Follow oral and written instructions
  • Able to prepare up to three (3) meals a day for those living in the home
  • Maintain home budget and checking account
  • Balance multiple responsibilities
