Job Description:

Crossnore Communities for Children is looking for couples to join our new Bridging Families program as Bridge Parents in our Crossnore, NC location. We are looking for dedicated, well-organized people who enjoy caring for children and willing to walk alongside families during the reunification process.
Bridge Parents use a professional, team-oriented, trauma-informed approach to support our children. This is a full time, 24/7, live-in position. Onsite housing and up to 4 days respite per month provided.
Each Bridge home can accommodate up to 6 children. As professional parents, this role helps bridge the gap by caring for children in an on-campus home while birth parents are working on their reunification plan. As families journey through the program, Bridge Parent responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a steady daily routine for the children in care, keeping necessary appointments and documentation, preparing meals, managing expenses and budgets, and participating in special activities. Bridge Parents also coach and support birth parents in healthy and appropriate parenting skills.
Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be over the age of 21, with a minimum of a high school diploma/GED. 
  • Minimum of two years experience in working with children and families required, preferably in a mental health or child welfare setting.
  • Prior residential/house parent experience or previous foster parent experience and knowledge of age appropriate living skills strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to live in an agency home.
  • Must have reliable vehicle and relevant auto insurance, valid driver's license, plus a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of child development and how it is impacted by trauma and/or prior experience working with youth that have experienced trauma, been diagnosed with mental or behavioral health challenges, or other at-risk populations preferred.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work with children of all ages, races, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, disabilities, and backgrounds.
  • Effective October 1, 2021 Crossnore Communities for Children is requiring new hires (excluding those with an approved medical or religious exemption) to be vaccinated for COVID 19 as a condition of employment to help ensure the safety of all employees, youth and families served.

Job Description:

Oblong Children’s Christian Home is seeking a mature Christian married couple to minister to
up to 8 youth at a satellite facility in Fairfield IL. Houseparents are professionals who work as a
team with the counselor/case worker, and executive director to provide an environment where

The Fairfield home is a satellite facility of the Oblong Children’s Christian Home located just
65 miles from the Fairfield home. Girls come to the home because of issues such as minor
delinquency, truancy, rebellion, attachment issues and/or because of family issues such as
parental health issues, lack of parenting skills, and parental drug addiction.

The Fairfield home provides a stable Christian family home for girls between the ages of 6 and 17 at placement. Houseparents provide unconditional love and guidance. The youth also
participate in counseling and a therapeutic horsemanship program. The houseparents and youth in their care can attend one of several local Christian Churches or Churches of Christ in the community.
The goal for most children is return home when both the child and the parents are prepared for
successful reunification. If return home is not possible, the home assists the youths until they are prepared for independent living. The ultimate goal is to prepare the young person for a life of Christian living and for eternity.
The home has excellent facilities and enjoys a sound financial base of church and individual
support without accepting State and Federal money.

The Oblong Children’s Christian Home, a financially sound ministry supported by churches and
individuals, is seeking a Christian Executive Director with a heart for neglected, troubled, delinquent and at-risk children and their families as well as a heart for the staff that serve them. The Oblong Children’s Christian Home provides stable Christian family homes on a campus setting. Houseparents provide unconditional love and guidance. The youth also participate in counseling and a therapeutic horsemanship program. High School youth initially attend an on-campus computer based school but can progress to the public school. The home has excellent facilities. The youth and staff attend one of several local Christian Churches or Churches of Christ in the community.

Job Description:

 The Christian City Children's Village is a residential program designed to assist children and adolescents work through life-crisis circumstances and reunite with their families when possible. As critical members of the Children’s Village team, Ministering House Parents provide a stable ecosystem where youth can work through their challenges, learn new skills, embark on healing, and ultimately help facilitate the process of family reunification.

We are looking for an enthusiastic married husband and wife couple with a high view on family reconciliation and reunification, willing to serve children and their families during their season of crisis.

Ministering Houseparents receive a full-time salary with health benefits covered at 100% by their employer and receive paid housing. The Ministering House Parents schedule is twenty-one active days on-duty followed by nine days off for rest, rejuvenation, and self-care.

Houseparent Couple

As a Houseparent Couple at Collins Home, you have the unique opportunity to help children from many different backgrounds find a place that they can truly call home. Our children come from across the Upstate of SC and range from ages birth to 21. We ensure they have a loving, Christian environment and opportunities to participate in normal everyday activities such as school, church activities, sports, clubs, music, etc.

Schedule: 10 days on, 4 days off (live-in position); respite housing is provided for off time.

Responsibilities:

Live on-site in a ranch-style home providing direct parental care for up to 8 children

Provide a loving, Christian living environment in a home-like setting with structure and stability

Be a role model for children & youth in your care

Provide educational support as needed (note: also have the support of tutors)

Assist with spiritual and emotional development

Plan, execute and teach independent living skills such as meal preparation, chores, etc.

Prepare written records and paperwork in a timely manner

Maintain house budget
