 Eagle Harbor Ranch is a faith-based Children's Home located on 87 acres of ranch land and horse pastures in Summerville, South Carolina. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an immediate hire for the position of live-in Houseparent's; a mission-minded husband and wife team for one of our boy's homes, with youth aged 13-18.

The Houseparents play an integral role with the counseling and educational staff to ensure all residents receive the attention, care and treatment they need and deserve daily.

HIRING NOW — My Father's Arrows Ministry is looking for responsible Christian couples (according to Biblical standards and our Statement of Faith), that identify with our core values and adopt our mission as their own. We need couples capable of utilizing a nurturing and loving approach to provide boundaries and structure with children affected by trauma.
The house parents play a key role in our holistic philosophy of care by using a professional, team-oriented, and trauma informed approach in the care of our children. A calm and controlled demeanor is key for this job. Our challenge as a team is to minister to the "whole" child. The couple provides direct care for a
small group of children (up to 12), age 0 to 17, to foster their character, spiritual, emotional growth, along with vocational skill sets.
Each couple has an apartment- 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, and storage space on a rural farm with a close knit team of families working together to bring hurting children to healing. This is a full-time position that includes a salary, full room and board, and a vehicle to drive.

Job Description:  

  • Maintain master schedules of all the homes to make available Relief Family Teachers, Assistant Family Teachers, and Part-Time Assistant Family Teachers to Consultants to fill openings in schedules due to personal leave (i.e., vacation, sick, emergency) requests by Family Teachers and Assistant Family Teachers.
  • Supervise/report Teaching Family Model Consultation Service Delivery to assure adherence to IUMCH service delivery policy. Provide individualized co-consultation (monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly) with Residential Consultants providing verbal and written feedback on quantity and quality of consultation service delivery and monitor to assure qualitative behavior support planning during treatment team/Child and Family Service Team meetings.

  • Perform administrative, supervisory, service, and direct care functions which includes: working with Residential Consultants, Trainer/Co-Evaluator, Case Aide, Family Teachers, Assistant Family Teachers, Relief Family Teachers, Relief Overnight and Volunteer Mentors.
  • Collaborate with other departments (Human Resources, Public Relations, Finance, Compliance, Admissions/Marketing, Clinical, and Maintenance) to ensure proactive communication and cooperation to meet IUMCH operational goals.
  • Submit monthly program updates to the Director of Residential Services including attendance, participation, and report on program services to the Board as necessary.
  • Oversee in the new development and/or revision of policies & procedures.
  • Participate and make admission decision at youth admissions staffing.
  • Provide administrative oversight and assist Director of Residential Services in Teaching Family Model pre-service, advanced training, and Family Teacher evaluations.
  • Evaluate supervisees annually according to their job descriptions.
  • Participate in interviewing new program staff.
  • Assist the Director of Residential Services with recruitment, hiring, and recommending termination of residential services staff: full and part-time direct care, Consultants, training/evaluation, and support staff.
  • Ensure that all Indiana United Methodist Children's Home group home management and support staff, supervisory, and Family Teachers adhere to, and receive training and development in compliance with the Indiana Administrative Code, Teaching Family Association, and IARCA regulations, outcome standards, and other applicable Indiana State laws/regulations.
  • Provide oversight of group home maintenance.
  • Approve group home budgets and expenses.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Social Work, Counseling, Social Work Administration, or a related human service degree, from an accredited school, two (2) years of experience in the management or supervision of child care personnel and program; and three (3) to five (5) years' experience in implementing one of the Teaching-Family Model training, consultation, or evaluation systems, along with strong clinical assessment skills is preferred.

As a leader of the Boarding team, being student focused in all matters with having a proper discerning view of how the boarding program supports the school community at large.

Student Routines
• Wake every student in the morning for breakfast and morning registration and inspect student bedrooms, filling in appropriate paperwork
• Supervise student's Prep hour in the evenings and Supervised Study at the weekends
• Report student illness promptly in the morning. If emergency attention is required, to use the emergency number or call an Ambulance

Facilities oversight

• To ensure a visible presence in and around the premises of the boarding house at all times when on duty

Pastoral Care
• Monitor the student's welfare and behaviour and report any problems in the residence to the boarding supervisor
• Communicate with teachers related to any student concerns
• Regularly communicate with parents about both positive achievements and ways students need support
• Arrange regular meetings with the students to support them academically, socially and emotionally.



School Community
• Liaise with Programme Directors and Heads of Department as requested

• Work with boarding staff and administration to complete an agenda to ensure complete coverage for boarding school students.
