Job Description:  

St. Jude's Ranch for Children is a residential facility located on 40 acres overlooking Lake Mead in Boulder City, NV, outside of Las Vegas, NV. We will provide a lovely furnished home, paid utilities, auto, gas, food and support staff. Medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401K available. Ten holidays per year plus paid time off.

Must be available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. Provide direct care for up to 6 High Level of Care youth through a caring and safe environment. Prepare initial treatment plans for youth and maintain youth reports and documentation in Youth Care treatment software in conjunction with the Behavioral Health team. Plan, participate and provide opportunities for individual and family activities that are educational and entertaining. Observe and define youth behaviors and identify skills present or lacking. Teach youth social, self-help, academic, independent living, problem solving, personal hygiene, money management and employment skills to maximize skill development and independent living Provide crisis intervention to youth while maintaining emotional self-control.

Counsel youth experiencing personal problems by using rational problem solving techniques. Maintain contact with both internal and external agency contacts to obtain and provide information regarding youth's behaviors, strategies and progress (observe, document, and consult). Attend to youth's medical physical condition caring for youth during illness, scheduling medical appointments and transporting youth to appointments, distribute and maintain medication logs. Provide emotional and moral support utilizing praise, feedback, and empathy to support youth. Serves as role model for youth by exhibiting skills taught in program. Attend court and conferences with teachers and counselors on behalf of youth and supervise parental visits.

Must pass extensive background check through Nevada Dept. of Family Services.

We are currently seeking a couple to be the House Parents for our adolescent home in Tustin, CA. This is a sibling-set group home for children ranging in age from 6-18 years of age, many of which are moving towards reunification with their families. The House Parents will live on-site and create a family environment for the children as well as provide material, physical, spiritual, emotional and disciplinary needs. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing and serving meals, train and supervise staff working in the home and participate in Family Plans of Service.

Qualified candidates should be a married couple with no more than 2 children living in the home. Bachelor's degrees in related fields preferred and related experience strongly preferred.

Job Description:  

The New Mexico Christian Children's Home is currently seeking married couples for House Parents in Training. NMCCH is a private, not-for-profit, Christian organization serving children in need since 1954 and is supported by the generous donations of churches of Christ/Christian churches and individuals. We do not accept government funding nor do we accept state placements.
House Parents work a one week on/one week off schedule with 8-12 children (with their own children included in the count.)
Our House Parents in Training work alongside the current house parents and help out in other areas on campus until an opening becomes available in a cottage. Until they are assigned to their own cottage, House Parent in Training work a traditional 40-45 hour work week.
