Position Salary:  

Meraki offers a base salary of $48,000-$60,000 DOE per couple + free housing/live in costs

Job Description:  

Meraki Youth Homes is looking for passionate individuals who are enthusiastic about working with teenage girls in foster care, to live in a large residence in east Mesa. The house parent's private quarters consist of an attached beautiful and spacious two story suite with a private living space. You do not move out on your day off! Our home supports 10 girls at a time, and has multiple staff who assist with daily activities and support.

Responsibilities include: keeping the house clean and tour ready, cooking meals, yard work, light admin, medication distribution, being an emotional support, and most importantly, creating a family environment showing love and teaching life skills.

Requirements:
*Minimum of high school diploma
*Must be able to pass a criminal background check
*Must be able to get a fingerprint clearance card
*Valid AZ driver's license, and provide a 5 year certified driving record

Job Description:  

Professional House Parents – Joann's Cottage

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for parenting in our maternity cottage.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years relevant child care experience
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Strong general knowledge of child and youth development, the child welfare system and maternity care
  • Flexibility to facilitate various program responsibilities
  • Computer proficiency: Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ensure all care of all clients, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, and operating protocol are in compliance with organizational and contractual policies and DCF regulations at all times.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping in charts, logbooks, records and licensing compliance to assure that best practices are in place and being utilized at all times.
  • Maintain all required trainings within required timeframes.
  • Meeting and ensure all physical needs, medical needs, mental health needs, and any other areas of growth and concern of clients, including necessary crisis intervention.
  • Respond to emergencies as per emergency plans and protocol.
  • Provide on-going monitoring and supervision of all clients at all times.
  • Assure safe environment for residents, employees, and visitors. Consider the safety aspects of household conditions and activities. Report any safety concerns in writing to the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Care for clients that are homebound due to illness, school discipline, holidays, vacation, or breaks.
  • Management of occupied home including budgeting and maintaining receipts for expenditures, record keeping as required, menu planning and meal preparation, and assisting with maintaining licensing requirements with regard to fire, health, safety standards, and managing emergencies as required.
  • Attend and participate in all house meetings, staffing's, meetings and client court hearings.

FAMILY TEACHING PROFESSIONAL – Live-in Position
NEXT for NEIGHBORS is a program of The Arc Westchester, created by Community Living Opportunities (CLO) and NEXT for AUTISM.

NEXT for NEIGHBORS is a first-of-its-kind program in New York offering a unique approach to ensuring a life of dignity, choice and engagement for adults with autism and those with related developmental and intellectual disabilities. A community living model, NEXT for NEIGHBORS combines the warmth and consistency of a natural home setting with highly individualized, comprehensive professional services, delivered and overseen by live-in professional staff.

These services are designed to empower and teach adults to live as independently as possible.

The Arc Westchester is a leading non-profit provider in Westchester County, New York. We seek couples or singles as Family Teaching Professionals to facilitate a high quality of life for persons within The, NEXT for NEIGHBORS residence.

This live-in position includes:

Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma/GED is the minimum requirement. Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in a field of human services is preferred.
• A valid NYS Driver's License for at least 2 years.
• At least 2 years experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Professional Family Teaching Model Certification obtained through The Arc Westchester within 12 months of employment.
